Clayton

Clayton was founded by Joel Henry Clayton,

along with his two brothers who laid out the foundations of city of Clayton in the year 1857. Joel Clayton beat his brother Henry Norton in a coin toss for naming rights for the town. Visitors interested in the historical and cultural background of the city of Clayton can take a tour of the museums, halls and other memorial buildings located in the charming downtown

Located five miles east of Concord, the city offers

beautiful creeks including the Peacock Creek, the Donner Creek and the Back Creek.
